East Midlands School of Paediatrics ("emips") website was a borne out of the need for postgraduate doctors in training often needing information about the paediatric programme which usually entailed asking supervisors or senior educators. Many of the queries were common year-on-year and so a central repository of information where one could go was developed. In previous years there used to be commercial programmes which had their benefits (but also their downsides too), and even more distant ago was the emitten website (a now defunct predecessor of emips). Emips is fully bespoke and tailored to the paediatric trainee within the East Midlands. We hope that in time it can be a useful resource for educational supervisors and College Tutors within the region too.

The emips project is led by the Digital TPD lead, currently Dr Simon Li, in collaboration with Digital Leads of each of the Education and Training Committees. ​Thanks must go to the Derbyshire Education Fund in sponsoring the initial start up costs for this website without whom this venture would not have gotten off the ground.
